American Idol

Wes loves to dance, especially when music comes on the tv. This was the second time in a row I played this part of American Idol because the first time he danced so much and clapped, of course when I took the camera out and replayed the show he didn't dance as much, but still cute.

Big Boy Haircut

We (finally) took Wes to get his haircut over the weekend. We went to a kids salon, which was perfect, he sat in a little car and even had Baby Einstein playing on his own personal television. He did great, no crying and sat relatively still. For some reason another customer came up to us and told us it was a good thing we were cutting his hair because she thought he was a girl, oy. Now he's got his big boy haircut, he doesn't even look like the same boy.

Skater Boy

Kurt and I have been talking about cutting Wes' hair and decided before we do that we need to capture it on film one last time (The pictures would also be his one year pictures). The photographer suggested bringing a favorite toy. At first I couldn't think of anything then Kurt said his skateboard, which Wes loves. The pictures came out great (although Kurt and I looked like stage parents trying to force our kid to skate while we were there). Here they are:

Wes' Favorite Things

Two of Wes' favorite new things are "mowing" the lawn with his new lawn mower and "horsey rides" on mommy's back.

He is so cute mowing the lawn, he loves to pull the cord that makes the mowing noise and pushes it all over the yard.

Horsey rides seem to be the one thing that can cheer him up from anything right now. He climbs on my back and squeals as I crawl around the room.

Skater Boy

Like father, like son. Wes is already in love with the skate board and every time Kurt watches him one of the things they do together is "skate." Every time we walk by the skateboards in the garage Wes points at them and says "oh oh oh oh." Needless to say I will be picking up a helmet with the rest of his birthday money.
