Pneumonia Update

Good news... Kurt is doing better than yesterday. The doctor said the xray was encouraging, however, Kurt is not out of the woods yet. The doctor said it will take about a month to be fully recovered. The first week Kurt will have to do basically nothing and then slowly start doing stuff again. Kurt's fever has stayed lower today and his cough is slowing down, too. Praise the Lord. Thanks for all the prayers.

Pneumonia

Well, Kurt is really sick. He came down with what we thought was a bad cold three weeks ago and went to the doctor almost immediately in hopes to nip it in the bud before getting his prego wife sick (that should have been my first hint, Kurt never goes to the doctor). So they put him on antibiotics and he was good and took all of them like he was supposed to. He started feeling a lot better on Christmas Eve. Then, two days after Christmas his cough started to flare up again and we were wondering what was going on since he was done with the meds and thought he was recovering. By the next morning he had a 102 degree fever. That afternoon we took him to the doctor again and they said he has walking pneumonia. They put him on an inhaler, two new antibiotics, cough syrup with codine, and told me to give him both tylenol and motrine in regular intervals. Yikes! While still very sick we thought he was starting to do a little better yesterday afternoon, guess it was too soon to think that because by this morning his temperature soared up to 103 degrees while I was out at Walmart. I've never been so scared, he looked like a zombie, he wouldn't move and could barely talk or breath.  No more going out for me, I am here with my homemade meds chart and making sure he is taking that stuff right on time. We've got the fever back down and I am forcing him to drink lots of water.  We have a doctors appointment tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11 to check up, they'll probably do an xray since there hasn't really been an improvement and we'll see where they take us from there. I'll post an update asap after the doctors. We greatly appreciate prayers for Kurt's condition. So far the Lord has protected me from catching any of this, which is truly a miracle because usually I catch everything.

Bella Loves Christmas

We decided to open a present early. We let Bella go first, she actually knew exactly what to do. I gave her a wrapped bag of rawhides and she clawed and nibbled at it until it was unwrapped, it was so cute. She had been sniffing it for a few days so she was super excited to get to open it. Bella got so into it she stopped chewing her rawhide when I started opening mine and tried to help me unwrap my box.

Christmas Fun

We had our annual Christmas Party last night. We had lots of fun eating, playing games and having fellowship with friends.
Here's another belly update, we are both growing. All I have to say is holy moly, Im huge!
Most of the people who came were able to stick around for a group picture. In attendance: Matt, Allysa, Nick, Jenny, Mark, Melissa, Jim, Jenna, Ashley, Jason, Delaine, Dan, Reagan, Kenny, Katherine, Ethan, Dawn, and Clint.
After all the planned activities were done a bunch of people stuck around for some guitar hero.
Of course we played Christmas Carol Pictionary.
We also played a game where we had to try to blow a ping pong ball off the other teams side as well as a tortilla toss outside.

Family Picture Out-Takes

These were Kurt's pose ideas, the out-takes of our photo shoot. These haven't been edited, so the shadows are still there, which makes them look blurry, but they're still fun to look at.

Family Picture Time

We shot some "family" pictures for our Christmas cards, here are the ones that made it  on the card.

Hanging Out

Dan, Delaine and Melissa had us over last night, along with Kenny, Katherine, Jason, Ashley and Jenna. We all brought over appetizers (in Dan's words, the best type of dinner ever, I agree). We watched the beginning of Get Smart, but all fell asleep.... we're already getting old.

Kurt and I had fun holding Reagan, she's growing so quickly.  Bella was very curious about her, too. Ashley and I compared bellies, she doesn't even look like she has one next to me!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We went up to the Newman Cabin for Thanksgiving.
It was a great time of rest and, of course, lots of food.
We were crazy enough to venture out on Black Friday.
The whole gang went into Arrowhead to visit the outlets,
it actually wasn't too crazy and we did find some
great deals (70% off everything in the store!).
Grandma and Grandpa also brought up their new puppy, Lulu.
She was cold, so Grandma made her an outfit out of a cozy sock... so cute!
Bella and Maggie were very curious of Lulu all weekend.

We introduced the family to Guitar Hero.
Paul and Grandma especially enjoyed playing the drums and guitar.
We also had lots of fun playing games and watching movies.

Visitors and Belly Pictures

Nick and Jenny stopped by today (notice her cute new haircut). We rocked out on guitar hero for a little while. We also took a few pictures and Jenny insisted that I show my actual belly for a belly picture, so here it is.... my last week in my second trimester

Nursery

We've started working on the nursery. We had to move the desks into our bedroom and the bookshelves into the garage to make room for the baby furniture. Kurt's parents brought over a baby doll so that we could train Bella in how to treat a baby (you can see him in the picture of the crib). Bella is very curious about this whole situation.

Belly Picture!

This is me at 24 weeks, which is two weeks ago... I'm a little behind on the belly pictures.

Lombardi's Ranch

A few of us girls (Dawn, Ashley, Melissa, Jenna, and me) went to Lombardi's Ranch to pumpkin hunt. Meanwhile, the boys went frisbee golfing. We met up later at Vincenzo's Pizza. You can see my growing belly well in this picture.
