Just For Fun
Just thought I'd put up a few cute pictures of Wes for Daddy's last night away.
I had to lower Wes' crib the other day, so while I was doing that my Mom was entertaining him in his room. He particularly liked playing with the rocking giraffe Melissa and Dawn got for him.
Every time I take the camera out (or phone or remote control) Wes wants to eat it =).
Here's how Wes and I talk to Kurt when he's away on business.
I went in to check on Wes the other day while he was napping and couldn't help but snap a picture of this, so sweet.
Here's my big boy standing in the crib, had to take down his mobile though, so that he wont destroy it as he's a pro at standing up in the crib now. Most of the time when I go in because he is crying I find him holding the edge of the crib, standing, and waiting for me.

Good Morning Mommy!
Wes didn't sleep very well on Sunday night/ Monday morning. He was up often with a tummy ache so early in the morning I decided to bring him in to bed with me in hopes that we might both get a little more sleep before I had to get up for the day. Well, he slept for thirty more minutes, most of which I was wide awake since he had pushed me to the edge of the bed. Even though I was so tired I couldn't help but smile and laugh at how Wes woke up, so I brought out the camera, which he tried to eat =). He is so sweet.

6 Month Check Up
Wes had his 6 month check up today. Wes' favorite part was playing with the paper on the table he sits on, he has a blast with it, crawling up and down the table and hitting and kicking the paper. His least favorite part, well, lets just say that when the doctor started checking his breathing he started to whimper and it got worse from there, I honestly think he correlates the stethoscope to future pain (ie-shots).
It was fun to see how Wes has progressed with his weight and height and to see how he is doing developmentally according to the doctors desires. Wes weighed in at 18 pounds 10 ounces (75%) and is 28 1/4 inches long (95%).

It was a lot of fun to tell his doctor what he has been doing lately, he asked if Wes was rolling over and I told him that he's crawling, he said, "you mean an army crawl with his stomach on the floor," and I explained that he was doing a real crawl, he seemed pretty surprised. Then he asked if he can sit up and for how long and I told him that he can sit up indefinitely and that he can even sit himself up from the laying down position and he nearly had to pull his jaw up off the floor. He told me that Wes is doing everything physically that a 9 month old should be doing and that he will likely be walking at 9 months... yikes! Wes is behind, on the other hand, in his speech development, so we will keep an eye on that over the months ahead.
Wes was also cleared to start eating a whole lot more variety. I introduced him to sweet potatoes today, he wasn't really a fan, but we'll keep trying.

Crawling!
Wes just crawled for real for the first time. He's been moving around for about a month, but not actual crawling more than one step. He got a new toy today and when I set it down he crawled over to it, then I moved it and did it again. So I pulled out the camera, thought he wasn't going to do it because of the camera but he did it again. Im so proud of him.

"Crawling"
Well, Wes isn't really crawling yet, but he is getting around by lunging... he gets up on all fours, rocks a little, then lunges forward and keeps going on and on in this process to get from one place to another. Yesterday he did this all the way under the exersaucer, much like his friend Ethan, it must feel like a fort under there or something.

Bass Lake!
Every year Kurt's family treks up to Bass Lake for a week of fun family times. Kurt went up on Saturday before he left for Tracy, Ca. on Sunday for work and Wes and I headed up on Tuesday morning with Allie. Wes had a blast, he loved the boat and even had his first time laughing (for about fifteen minutes, thanks to Grandma Kim). I got both on video, but it is on a different video camera so I am not sure how to post it :(. But here are some of the pictures from our fun time up there:

5 months
Once again I am behind on posting, so these pictures are a bit old. Wes turned five months while we were up at Bass Lake, so he got to take his pictures in a very pretty place. He has sure been growing up, he is working really hard to crawl but hasn't quite gotten it. He is also teething, one tooth has broken through, but he's been so fussy these last few days I am thinking he might have more coming in. He is also growing so fast, I can't wait to try baby food with him, which will start in a few more weeks.
