Enjoying each other

Wes and I are really starting to enjoy each other. It is very nice to be settling into a routine. Every morning Kurt has been so great to get up a little bit earlier so that he can do the first morning feeding, which allows me to get another hour of sleep.... it is so nice! When Kurt is out of time and has to finish getting ready for work he brings Wes into the bed and lays him next to me (it is such a nice way to wake up, with my sweet little boy happy and laying next to me). We cuddle for a few minutes as I wake myself up. This morning right after Wes joined me in bed Bella came up to cuddle to. It was so cute I had Kurt take a picture.
When I went to wake Wes up from one of his naps today he was just so cute I had to take a picture.  He is really starting to take good naps.

Cabin Trip

We are so blessed to have a family cabin to get away to. This weekend we were able to go up with Kurt's parents; it was Wes' first trip. Kurt's brother Kyle and his girlfriend Allie also came up. We had a lot of fun hanging out and Kurt's parents watched Wes so that we could go out a couple of times, too. Wes also had a big first while we were up there, while he was playing on his play mat he rolled over from his tummy to his back (in What to Expect this is listed as a "may even be able to..." by the end of two months... I must say, Im a proud mommy).
Kyle brought up a laser pointer and him and Kurt had a lot of fun playing "catch" with the light. Here is a picture of Bella trying to get the light out from Kurt's hand.
Here is Kurt and Wes hanging out on the balcony of the cabin.

Sears Photos

We went to Sears today to get his first professional photos done. Here are a few of them...

Tummy Time

Here are a few pics of Weston's first try at tummy time. Thanks to Neil and Nicole, our neighbors, for the fun surfboard tummy time mat.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

This onesie was the first thing I bought for Wes. I bought it over the summer when I went to Ireland with Katherine, when he was about the size of a jelly bean.  Now he finally gets to wear it.

Fun Pictures

I love these pictures.... Wes was hangin with my mom and he's so good at holding his head up we thought we'd see if we could get any good pictures from behind while he was doing it, here they are.

Its true

I've always heard that the things that gross you out your entire life won't gross you out when they come from your own child... I never believed it. But now I know its true, the other night my sweet little boy just wouldn't go to sleep. I fed him at 3 am and it was now 4:30 and he was restless, so I picked him up and thought maybe if I cuddled with him in bed he might fall asleep and I could get a little bit more rest before the next feeding. Well, he was really enjoying the cuddling when all of a sudden, out of no where, Wes threw up all over my face.... and the only thing that upset me was that he might have an upset tummy, not that his vomit was all over my face and shoulders. I realize that I might have felt differently if it got in my mouth (thank God it was closed when it happened) but nothing he does really grosses me out, so it is true!

We are slowly but surely adjusting to life with each other and settling in to more of a routine. Wes is getting more alert and starting to nap a little bit more regularly as well, praise the Lord. (He's napping right now in his swing, I love that thing!). Here is a sweet picture of him napping on Nana's shoulder (his favorite napping position).

Wes' Swing

Just thought I would put up a few cute pictures of Wes in his new swing. He likes it, but only for a few minutes. Hopefully he will grow to love it over time.

Wes' Appointment

Just got back from Weston's first appointment with his pediatrician. He is doing good, he now weighs 9 pounds 3 ounces and his pink eye has pretty much cleared up. Here is a picture of him sleeping...
He loves to sleep on his side. I always lie him down on his back, but from his first day here on earth he has been rolling over onto his side. He is also really good at holding his head up already.

Bath Time

I was so scared to give Wes a bath, but he is such a good little boy he only fussed a little.
Here's a picture from his first bath when his pink eye was still bad.

The rest are from bath number two, he wasn't so happy in this one.

Getting warm and dry.

Having his hair brushed. His hair gets really fluffy after it has been washed.

Pink Eye!

Wes has pink eye, the poor little guy has not had an easy life.... he's got all these scabs on the back of his head from the attempted vacuum extraction, he lost all that weight and had jaundice the first week, and now pink eye. Praise the Lord, he is recuperating very well. I just thought I would post a picture that shows his eye (looks like he's been in a fight).
